My Experience at the IoT Workshop: A Journey into the Future of Technology 🌐
By Ayush Padmawar, Published October 2024
I recently had the opportunity to attend a two-day Hands-on Experience workshop on the Internet of Things (IoT), organized by the IEI Students’ Chapter of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at MGM's College of Engineering, Nanded, held on September 27-28, 2024. This workshop provided an incredible platform to deepen my understanding of IoT and its wide-ranging applications, leaving me with valuable insights that I am excited to apply in my future projects.
Exploring IoT Concepts 🔍
During the workshop, we explored the vast domain of IoT, focusing on several key concepts:
Device Connectivity
Data Management
Real-Time Applications
It was truly fascinating to see how IoT is being leveraged to transform industries and address real-world challenges. The knowledge I gained through these sessions has given me a deeper perspective on how IoT is shaping the future of technology and solving some of the most pressing challenges.
Acknowledgments 🙏
A workshop of this scale and depth would not have been possible without the support of our amazing instructors. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the following individuals for their invaluable guidance:
Dr. Mahesh Sanghavi Sir
Kainjan Sanghavi Ma'am
Dr. Rajiv Bhandari Sir
Khyati Nirmal Ma'am
Their expertise and mentorship made the workshop both enriching and engaging. Their ability to simplify complex topics and guide us through practical implementation was remarkable.
Team Collaboration 🤝
One of the highlights of the workshop was the chance to work closely with my peers and engage in hands-on experience with some exciting IoT devices. My teammates were:
Ritesh Falfale
Ketki Rahegaonkar
Gayatri Udawant
Shubhangi Bhale
Together, we worked with Arduino Uno, ESP8266, and Raspberry Pi. The Raspberry Pi was particularly exciting due to its unique operating system, setting it apart from other devices we worked with.
On the first day, we dove into projects using the Arduino Uno and made impressive progress as a team. It was a great collaborative effort, and we also connected with another group from our class—Sushant Puramwar, Ankur Gatpalli , Pranav Daithankar , Vishvawasu Pendalwar , Gauri Wankhede , and Suleman Shaikh —which made the experience even more enriching.
Overcoming Challenges 🛠️
The second day came with its fair share of challenges. We needed to quickly implement projects using the ESP8266 and Blynk, but we encountered some connectivity issues. Thankfully, with the assistance of Khyati Nirmal Ma'am, we were able to troubleshoot and resolve the problems. This enabled us to move on to the Raspberry Pi projects, where both teams excelled despite the time constraints.
It was a great learning experience in dealing with technical hurdles under pressure, an essential skill in the world of IoT.
Conclusion ✨
This workshop was an incredible experience that greatly enhanced my understanding of the Internet of Things and its diverse applications. I am immensely grateful to the IEI Chapter, Rahulsingh Bisen Sir, and Dr. Archana Rajurkar Ma'am (Head of the CSE Department) for making this workshop possible.
I am eager to apply the knowledge I gained to future projects and dive deeper into this dynamic field.
